Practicing Patience
When I was writing my book "Whispers Beneath the Baobab", I never realized how much patience it would take to share my story with the world. As I poured out my heart, sharing the struggles and triumphs of my faith journey, I had to learn to wait on God's timing. It was a lesson that would change the trajectory of my life forever.
I remember the early days of writing like they were yesterday. The words flowed effortlessly onto the page as I shared about my childhood under the baobab tree, where I first sensed God's presence. But as time went on and the manuscript grew thicker, so did my frustration. Why was it taking me so long to finish this book? Why couldn't I just get it done already?
It wasn't until I hit a major roadblock – when my computer crashed and I lost weeks' worth of work – that I realized God was teaching me patience. I was forced to slow down, take a deep breath, and trust that His plan was bigger than my own timeline. It wasn't easy; my natural inclination was to panic and try to fix the situation myself. But as I surrendered to God's sovereignty, I began to see the world through new eyes.
Practicing patience isn't about waiting passively for things to happen; it's about actively trusting in God's goodness and timing. When we learn to wait on Him, we discover that He is always working behind the scenes, preparing a way for us to experience His best. In my book, I share how this principle played out in my life – from waiting for the right job opportunity to trusting God with the outcome of a major decision.
The truth is, patience is not something we naturally possess. We're wired to rush, to hurry, and to get things done quickly. But when we choose to practice patience, we open ourselves up to experiencing God's power in our lives. We learn to trust Him more deeply, even when the road ahead seems uncertain.
So, as you navigate your own journey of faith, remember that patience is not a virtue; it's a choice. It's choosing to trust God's plan over your own. And when you do, you'll discover that His timing is always better than yours.
